The Chula Vista Elementary School District will hold two virtual training sessions with methods to deal with your child’s behavior.  The presentation in English will be on Thursday, October 15, from 5:30-7:30 pm.  The presentation in Spanish will be on Tuesday, October 20, from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Flyers are attached and also available under the peachjar setting of our blog.

Monday, October 5, 2020: Child Nutrition Services (CNS) will distribute Free Grab and Go Breakfast and Lunch every Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in front of the mural area. Children do not need to be present.

Important Reminders/Information:

Parent-Teacher Conferences: During the Week of October 15-October 22, 2020 CVESD will have Parent/Teacher Conferences. All days will be minimum days. Students and teachers will participate in two hours of synchronous instruction. Classroom teachers will send families their individual class schedules for your reference and preparation. Coffee with the Principal: The next Coffee with the Principal will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 5 p.m. Based on the feedback from the parent survey, 5 p.m. was the best time to hold the meeting. We will have a guest speaker that will facilitate a discussion regarding “How to understand the unique challenges families are facing with distance learning.” Let’s learn about ways in which we can respond better to our children’s emotional needs during this time. CVESD Parent/Guardian Commitment Survey Form: Click here to complete the CVESD survey regarding re-opening. Please fill out this survey for each of your children regarding your preference If TK-2nd graders return to campus on October 26, 2020.

MS Teams Chat: We encourage families to check their child’s Microsoft Teams chat and discuss appropriate ways to communicate.  

CVESD Parent Helpline for Office 365 and Teams: Our District has established a Parent Helpline to provide technical support with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as assistance for District-adopted online programs (i.e. Achieve 3000). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents may call if they need support with these tools and an IT team member will assist them. Parents may need to leave a message during peak times, but please be reassured that someone will contact you as soon as possible. The parent helpline number is (619) 409-6638. Daily Distribution: Daily we have staff on campus 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to distribute supplies to families. Whiteboards and planners (Grades 3-6) are available in front of the mural area.

Attendance: Please ensure your child is up and ready for their assigned graded level distance learning schedule for the day. If you are not sure what the specific schedule is for your child, please contact the classroom teacher.
