CVESD has a new procedure for families to report their child’s COVID-19 positive home test results. This procedure is for any test taken OTHER than those at the CVESD testing sites. Thank you for your support, flexibility, and understanding during the ever-changing protocols.

  • I took my child to get tested at a CVESD site. Do I need to report their test results? No, do not report a positive test if your child was tested at a CVESD test site.
  • I did not take my child to test at a CVESD site. What do I do?: Parents/Guardians must send a copy of the home test (or community results – i.e. any test not done at District or Hedenkamp) to COVTEST3@CVESD.ORG where you will be directed to complete the Positive COVID-19 Test Reporting Form
  • If you have not submitted your child’s positive test results, then your family is now required to use the form above to submit the test.
  • If your child is absent for any reason, including a COVID positive test, please contact the front office. You can call (619) 656-6252 x 550110 and or e-mail marshallschool@cvesd.org. As a school community, we need your assistance for accurate record keeping. Please help us keep everyone safe.
  • All families are required to report their child’s absence and the reason for the absence. Please report your child’s absence within 24 hours. If your child attended school on Tuesday and Wednesday and they are now positive, we need this information immediately. Please keep your child home and help us keep everyone safe.

As a reminder, if your child has any symptoms, keep your child home. We encourage testing. If your child lives with someone who is COVID-19 positive, they must stay home and fulfill the SDCOE guidelines for a safe return.

COVID-19 positive students may return to school before day 11, if you have:
• Stayed home for at least 5 days from the start of symptoms (or positive test collection date if no symptoms).
• No symptoms present (or improving) AND a rapid antigen test (not PCR) collected on day 5 (example: symptoms started Monday, Day 5 is Saturday) or later is negative AND test provided to the school.
**Home tests distributed by CVESD and uploaded may be used to release students from isolation through 1/27/22 per CDPH and County of San Diego.**
• Returning students must be able to wear a well-fitting mask indoors and outdoors.
IMPORTANT: Tests to release a person early from isolation must be an antigen test.

Quarantine guidance for household members: Quarantine for students exposed to a positive person does not begin until the end of the exposure to the positive person while they are communicable. People are generally considered to be communicable for 10 days. A negative test can not be used to avoid quarantine.

Questions regarding quarantine: If you have questions about quarantine (people who have been exposed to a positive person), please email Covtest4@cvesd.org

If your child has any symptoms, keep your child home and get them tested. You can use the rapid test provided by our school or take your child to get tested at one of our CVESD sites. A person (vaccinated or unvaccinated) has one or more symptoms associated with COVID-19: Possible symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.
