We are looking for parents to join our ELAC and SSC. Review and complete the forms below if you would like to be on one of the committees.
School Site Council (SSC): Click here to complete the online nomination form.
• Oversee the school budget, the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), and the Safe Schools Plan (SSP).
• Serve a two-year term.
• Be a parent/guardian whose child attends TMES or be a community member of TMES.
• Attend monthly meetings held on Wednesday’s at 3:30 p.m. that will last approximately one hour.
• Have a growth mindset and open to learning about how to help TMES continue a legacy of greatness.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC): Click here to complete the online nomination form.
English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a committee consisting of staff members and parents of students whose first language is not English. It is a meeting place where parents/guardians can participate and provide input for programs and services for English Learners at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School (TMES). The TMES ELAC Bylaws specify that parent representatives, who are voting members, serve a one-year term. Attend monthly meetings on Friday at 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. that will last approximately one hour.

CVESD Parent Helpline for Office 365 and Teams: Our District has established a Parent Helpline to provide technical support with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams, as well as assistance for District-adopted online programs (i.e. Achieve 3000). Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Parents may call if they need support with these tools and an IT team member will assist them. Parents may need to leave a message during peak times, but please be reassured that someone will contact you as soon as possible. The parent helpline number is (619) 409-6638. Device Request Form
I-Ready Diagnostic
- Students will begin taking a math diagnostic assessment called iReady starting the week of Sept. 14. It is important that your child’s teacher get a valid diagnostic in order to best meet the needs of your child. Please WATCH THIS VIDEO on how you can support your child. If your child will be taking the diagnostic on an iPad, please read ASAP
Daily Distribution
- Daily we have staff on campus 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to distribute supplies to families. White boards and planners (Grades 3-6) are available in front of the mural area.

Is the front office open for in person business?
- Not at this time due to COVID-19.

Attendance
- Please ensure your child is up and ready for their assigned graded level distance learning schedule for the day. If you are not sure what the specific schedule is for your child, please contact the classroom teacher.
