January 11, 2022: School Voicemail & COVID Test Information

Greetings Mustang Families,

Our Mustangs had a great first day back from break. We were happy to see our Mustangs on campus.

Have you called and left a voicemail on our school phone? If so, our voicemail system stopped working. We are unable to access voicemails at this time. We apologize in advance for the technical issue and inconvenience this glitch has caused to your family. What does this mean? If you left a voicemail between Friday, January 7, 2022, and Tuesday, January 11, 2022, with a reason for your child’s absence, we are unable to retrieve it. This is where we need your help. Please e-mail COVID +positive test results and/or your information regarding your child’s reason for absence to marshallschool@cvesd.org. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as our IT team is trying to fix the technical issue.

Negative Rapid Tests Results: Do I need to send a copy of a negative test result? No, please send your child to school. We welcome them with open arms. Our district staff, teachers, and front office do not need a copy of the negative test. Thank you for keeping our team informed.

+Positive Test: Read the details below.

If your child has tested positive for COVID-19 on a home test, through the District Office/Hedenkamp Elementary School or at a lab or clinic since 12/30/2021, you must follow the California Department of Public Health/County of San Diego guidance for returning to school or work.

–>>First, keep your child home. Then, send a copy of the positive test with the details below to covtest3@cvesd.org and marshallschool@cvesd.org. Include the following details in the e-mail.

Subject Line: + COVID Home Positive Test-TMES

  • Child’s Name
  • DOB
  • Grade
  • Classroom #
  • Symptoms (Include All)
  • Symptom Onset Date
  • Date of Test
  • Type of Test
  • Phone number
  • Picture of test result if possible

When can my child return to school if they test positive?

COVID-19 positive students may return to work or school before day 11, if you have:

  • Stayed home for at least 5 days from the start of symptoms (or positive test collection date if no symptoms).
  • No symptoms present (or improving) AND a rapid antigen test (not PCR) collected on day 5 (example: symptoms started Monday, Day 5 is Saturday) or later is negative AND test provided to school/supervisor.
  • **Home tests distributed by CVESD and uploaded may be used to release students from isolation through 1/27/22 per CDPH and County of San Diego.**
  • Students and staff may return without the need for additional testing on day 11. For example, if symptoms started on January 1, day 11 (return date) is January 12.

Please note:

  • Returning students must be able to wear a well-fitting mask.

IMPORTANT: TESTS TO RELEASE EARLY FROM ISOLATION (POSITIVE CASE) MUST BE ANTIGEN.

If you tested positive OUTSIDE of the District Office site or the Hedenkamp Elementary site since 12/30/2021, send positive lab notice, school name, and a contact phone number to COVTEST3@cvesd.org and marshallschool@cvesd.org. Please follow the above guidelines, and you will be contacted. If you tested at a CVESD site, do not use this email address if you tested at the District or Hedenkamp Elementary as the systems are distinct.

Questions regarding quarantine: If you have questions about quarantine (people who have been exposed to a positive person), please email Covtest4@cvesd.org

If your child has any symptoms, we encourage your child to be tested. You can use the rapid test provided by our school or take your child to get tested at one of our CVESD sites.
