January 15, 2023: TMES Parent Weekly

Greetings TMES Families,

We encourage all families to stay informed by reading the TMES Parent Weekly. Click the link to read and download the copy of the TMES Parent Weekly 1.16.2023 pdf. Below, you will find the image of the weekly for reference.

Attendance: Help us increase our school-wide attendance. Currently, we are at 95.15% daily attendance. We want to increase our attendance percentage. Daily, all Mustangs are expected to be on time to school. Monthly, families will receive attendance letters if their child’s attendance is impacted. If your child is ill, call or send an e-mail to the front office. Help your child by making sure they are on time for school and prepared the night before. Daily breakfast is provided for students at 8:15 a.m. -8:40 a.m. All gates close at 8:45 a.m. and students that arrive after 8:45 a.m. will need to proceed to the front office and obtain a green slip. If your child has three, five, seven, or more absences, the California Department of Education requires parent notification via letter. Monthly, letters are sent out to communicate to families regarding attendance. If you receive a letter and have questions regarding your attendance, please call the front office.

COVID Symptoms: Please review the important reminder about illness. If your child is showing any COVID-19 symptoms, please keep your child home and contact the attendance office at (619) 656- 6252 x 550110 to report their illness and reason for absence.

What are COVID Like Symptoms? A person (vaccinated or unvaccinated) has one or more symptoms associated with COVID-19: Possible symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and/or diarrhea.

Do I have to test my child for return to school when they were sent home with COVID-like symptoms or could not come to school due to COVID-like symptoms? Yes. A single negative antigen result in response to an onset of symptoms is acceptable to allow return to school/work when symptoms are improving and your child has been fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours.

What if my child has a documented pre-existing medical condition? Please contact your doctor and contact our nurse, Maia at (619) 656-6252x 550110. Nurse Maia will help assist you further.

Additional Questions: Please reach out to covtest4@cvesd.org if you have any questions. CVESD is following the SDCOE Decision Tree. Please see the link below.  SDCOE Decision Tree: COVID-19-Decision-Tree.pdf (finalsite.net)
